The Public Byways, Droves and Footpaths of the Parish of Penton Grafton
The village of Weyhill lies at the crossroads of eight ancient trackways and roads including the Harroway.
These trackways and roads were used for moving the tin from Cornwall to the Kentish ports, and the Gold Road was a system of tracks transporting gold from Ireland to the Continent.
The Weyhill Fair is said to date from 1225 to the last Sheep and Cattle Auction that was held by Woolley & Wallis of Salisbury in 1957.
Today Weyhill is on the A342 with the A303 lying to the South.
We hope you enjoy our Droves, Tracks and Footpaths.
